Remarks: Krobia xinguensis come from Brazil, where they are found in the Xingu River. They prefer clear, shallow water and medium flow rates and occasional vegetation and driftwood. They reach 5" or so in captivity and will react fairly peacefully towards other cichlids, though pairs can defend a spawning site with aggression. These tan-striped fish have lovely red scales that follow their lateral line from the cheeks to their caudal fin.
