Remarks: Neolamprologus cylindricus is a torpedo-shaped rock-dwelling fish from Lake Tanganyika. These fish love rocky formations and are rarely seen more than a few inches away from one. Males will spawn in a female's cave, producing up to 250 fry in one batch.
Tanks should be furnished with several piles of rock, reinforced to prevent tumbling if digging occurs. Tankmates include other Neolamprologus species, as well as Julidochromis, Altolamprologus, and Cyprichromis. Sexing is difficult, so a group of 4-8 juveniles should be raised together if breeding is desired.
